In the 1970’s the New York Times ran a front page article on the coming
“ICE AGE” and caused quite a stir. It was a hot topic for quite a while. We were all going to freeze. Years went by and they discovered that
the earth was actually not getting colder anymore but was now getting warmer.
That became “Global
Warming” and paid off very well for folks like Al Gore for selling carbon
credits and such. By the turn of the century the seas were suppose to rise and flood coastal cities. Then, a scientist in the UK leaked emails showing up the scam
but many ignored them and they still believed. Settled science, don't ya know.
Years passed, and they found that the
earth was not getting warmer anymore so it was changed to “Climate Change” so
anything that happened could be blamed on it and it was getting bad for the image to have to keep changing the name every few years.
We are now supposed to let China and
India build a new coal fired power plant every week but we are expected to stop using
coal and cause higher unemployment in places like West Virginia and let our
electric bills go up. (About 40% of our electricity is now generated by coal.) Since the price of electricity is in everything we make it will continue to make us less competitive in the world
markets.
I know that any event will have some reaction but count me in the unconvinced camp for now. (By the way, Al Gore moved to California and bought an ocean side mansion on the Pacific coast after his wife kicked him out. I guess the Pacific won't be one of the seas that will rise.)
It has not been widely reported, for some reason, so you may not have heard that the ship that has been frozen in the ice for over a week has a team of scientists on board that are studying "Global Warming" or is it "Climate Change", I forget. You may not want to watch all of this but it also shows how the news media
will ignore certain things that don’t fit their agenda.
